We Begin Again, Like Before...
Dec. 4th, 2011 10:39 pmLast week I made yet another Triumphant Return to the gym. I wasn't expecting much from myself, considering I haven't done much in the way of exercising since my Zombie Run back in October. My goal was to keep moving for the duration of my Week 9/5K playlist. I'd walk the five minutes, then jog the first song, walk the second song, and keep alternating until the end of the playlist. Made it most of the way, but then I kind of got bored, so I stopped and decided to stretch for the rest of my time there.
It was during the stretching that I decided that redoing an abridged version of Couch 2 5K might not be a bad idea. I won't spend a full week on the first few weeks, but rather do one a day until I reach the week I can't do on the first try. Once I hit that wall I'll continue the rest of the program as if I were doing it for the first time.
When I'm done, I might redo the whole nine week program again, only with actual running in place of the jogging, and jogging playing the part of the walking.
In addition to this I'm hoping to get a little further with the 100 Push-up Challenge. While I've never actually made it to the end of that program, I'm constantly amazed by how much easier the few push-ups I can actually do are. When I gave that program it's very first college try I could barely complete five push-ups, now I can do fifteen pretty easily. Of course these are the modified....
The goal here is to do the program once on my knees, and then repeat it on my toes.
I have no doubt this will be harder than the jogging thing.
I've been fairly "good" at hopping on my Wii Fit once a week to keep a record of my ever fluctuating weight. Always in the morning, always in just my robe so as to keep the variables to a minimum. It's kind of cool to me to see how everything varies from month to month.
I should do another set of full body measurements, but the disheartening I felt when I took a recent waist measurement may keep me from that until after the New Year.
SO weak. So so weak.
Kind of excited to see how the week goes, so there's that!
