[Insert Sarah McLachlan song lyrics here]
Aug. 24th, 2014 09:14 amYesterday was amazing and I can't thank all the people who made it that way enough.
Roomie Alissa and I hosted a Yard Sale, and while I didn't manage to get rid of nearly as much stuff as I was hoping for....I cleaned up and made much bank. Like...$250 worth of bank. I'm kind of stoked about that, and not just because it takes a HUGE chunk out of the money I owe Old Roomie Joe for the entertainment center.*
My experiences in co-hosting a yard sale are many, varied, but can be summed up thusly:
- Yard Sale people are weird.
- My neighborhood is full of crazy people.
Oh, and there's a dude who works at our local Starbucks who will ply us with free drinks if only we go in and talk geeky with him, because he's new in town and there are apparently few geeks in his life.
Also, the dude who asked me who my comics belonged to while I sat next to them wearing a Grimlock t-shirt? STEP ON A LEGO, YOU FAKE-GEEK-GIRL REINFORCING MOTHER FUCKER.
After the Yard Sale was winding down amazeballs people came over to help "cool" the house. Tom was amazeballs and got pizza and soda for the house while I attempted to make a rotini pasta bake in the style of "We Are Poor Ex-College Students."
Again, thank you all to joined us, it was amazing to see you one last time in this claptrap we've called home for nearly 15 years.
The night wrapped up early, because we're old.
Now I face a full day of laundry, packing, cleaning, and cosplay preparation.
Please to be ignoring the following To Do list:
( To Do )
* Everyone hope and pray the old tv lasts k thnx.
