That's how many days I have to get my life together and packed in cardboard so that burly men can move it a half mile east. Well...technically it's 15 days, as I'll be spending 4 of them at DragonCon, but...that's neither here nor there.
Yesterday Roomie Joe moved 95% of his belongings, and himself, to his new home. I spent much of Saturday watching movers do their thing, followed by helping set up his new bedroom. It was all kind of surreal.
It still is.
I'm sure the fact that I've annex'd Roomie Joe's old bedroom is only helping to emphasize this sense of surrealness.
What? This room has four windows and cross-breeze. You didn't think I was just going to let that sit vacant, did you?
I spent the bulk of today rearranging the things I've already packed to a more easily accessible location. Which basically means my 18 boxes of books, 9 boxes of TMNT-themed statuary, and a dozen framed bits of art have been relocated to the second floor.
My plan is only have the furniture I can't move on my own still on the third floor come the movers. This aforementioned plan also involves all my various and sundry tchotchkes rounded up and packed along with our attic being entirely empty of our belongings prior to my going away for Labor Day weekend. We...we'll see how that goes.
I've been putting strips of painter's tape on the doors of cabinets and closets that have been completely emptied.
Total number of pieces of tape deployed thus far: 3.
Total number left to go: Too many.
This is going to be an adventure, make no mistake.
