How's about an update, hmm?
Sep. 21st, 2012 11:24 amOne of the benefits of collecting pajamas as I do is that when one gets this sick, with this level of fever, one never has a shortage of comfy pants and shirts to wear. Today I'm rocking a pair of Simpson's PJ pants and a T-shirt from an Employee Appreciation Day event held by the company that just a few months later laid me off two whole weeks before Christmas.
Good times.
But not as good as the times I'm experiencing now! WOOO!
*wheeze*
Okay, that might have just tapped all of my energy for the day.
I am still sick. Still rocking a fever, but today it's a balmy 102, which is kind of an improvement. My test results have returned, and the strain of bacteria causing the problem is a weak one, and it's predicted the butter will respond well to both of the antibiotics I'm currently taking. And by respond well I mean: DIE! DIE YOU BASTARDS! DIE!
There was supposed to be an outing to see my doctor today, but instead he called me this morning to talk on the phone. Instead of going to see him today, I'm to report to the hospital tomorrow for a couple more tests.
However, he's not really pleased with how I'm still running a fever. I'm to not take Advil after midnight tonight, and if the fever is still there, then my couple of tests tomorrow will turn into my spending the night at the hospital for IV antibiotics.
I can tell you're all wishing that you were having as much fun as I am right now.
Don't lie.
Honestly though, I am doing better. It's just that better right now is still kind of shit. But I mean, this is the first day of the three thus far that it doesn't burn my eyes and make my head throb to look at a screen at this hour of the day. So that's progress.
In the near future I'm going to have some English Muffins, possibly the rest of the banana I forced myself to eat at 8:30 this morning so I could take my meds, maybe have a can of ginger ale, and then? Who knows?!
I might just watch a movie, or two.
It's kind of amazing that I even have that option.
Amazing and still really freakin' pathetic.
Good times.
