What does the LEAF say?
Uh huh. We're back to this again
And why? Well to be honest? I think it's the waning sunlight mixed with the fact that I just recently spent an entire weekend watching people several sizes smaller than me in all directions parade around in outfits that would horrify me to wear in my own bedroom, let alone in public.
So, I've endeavored to create for myself a schedule that I'm going to do my damnedest to stick to, that way if nothing else...I can feel as though I've done something.
And for the record? This is supposed to be read with a sense of pride permeating through it, and not like...chock full of pity and other such crap.
Anyways, this morning I returned to jogging. Couch to 5K, you will not be rid of me until I have defeated you, torn your body limb from limb, set you on fire, and then scattered the ashes.
DO YOU HEAR ME, COUCH TO 5K? I'M COMING FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN'S CHILDREN!
hem.
The plan was to start from the beginning doing a Week's designated run on one day, and go until I hit a metaphorical wall. That way I'd know exactly how far I've backslid and would go from there.
A great plan, right?
Well...it's a better one if you've remembered to load those first two week's worth of music cues into your iPod. So...I did Week 3 instead of Week 1, because that's the earliest I had in my playlists. And actually, it didn't go poorly. I mean, it was still jogging, but it went well.
I'm torn about going on to Week 4 on Wednesday, only because it's supposed to be 90 on Wednesday, and maybe I should stick to something I know I can accomplish before going a step forward on a day that's strictly too hot to jog, but we'll see. There's no rule saying I have to run in the morning, so maybe I'll jog after work if it's cooler. Or maybe I'll just jog/walk home from work that day and call it even.
With the return of weather that isn't out to kill me there has also been a return of biking to work. This makes me happy. I love my bike.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to make it to the gym for some work on the machines. Because I don't want to be schlepping my good running shoes and sports bra all over creation Gym Days are going to be dedicated to machines. So at the moment I'm torn between finding a good bike path to take for my cardio, or waiting in the YAY NEW SCHOOL YEAR! lines for a stationary bike at the gym. I'll probably do the former until it's not nice enough outside to do that any longer. By that point the kids will have realized that sleep is more important than working out and there should be more room at the gym for me.
I'm fighting the urge to sign up for a gym class of some sort.
Next semester, if I'm good.
So to sum up on my plans:
Jogging 3x/week
Biking every day it's nice enough to do so.
Gym 2x/week
In addition to the moving about thing, I'm also going to do my level best to keep better track of what I'm eating. It's not for weight loss, though that'd be a pretty kick-ass boon, but for overall digestive health. (Fucking zombies.)
I'm also planning on trying to read a book a month, because I keep buying them and then not reading them.
SO yeah, that's what's up with me.
Consider yourself LEAFED.

Because before I hop in with ALL THE THOUGHTS, I figured I should ask. :)

Not that I'm opposed to hearing encouragement, or even comments of a more critical nature.
Mine is a body image so rife with "issues" that 9 times out of 10 I don't even realize the "other hand" of my comments when I make them.

Over here I have committed to working out 3x/week minimum, and wow making a habit of it is the hardest part, I think. So I am excited for you to meet your goals, too!

You know what would also help? If the weather would be constant for the season. That'd be wicked nice.
As it stands my new "plan" is to hit the gym twice a week and focus mostly on stretching/yoga and upper body.
I figure my lower body will be fine with biking to/from work until it's too cold to do so. Then I'll work on going to the gym 3 times a week and do cardio and strength training there.
We'll see.
