Hey girl, wha'cha doin?
Dec. 30th, 2013 12:53 pmI have become obsessed with New Girl.
Wait...I've jumped ahead, let's back up.
I didn't have to go to the hospital.
My brother-in-law's brain is not trying to escape his skull.
Mom delivered my Christmas Lasagna.
Just, as an update from my last post.
Things are looking a whole lot better this week than they did last week this time, and I for one am thankful beyond measure.
I've mainlined most of Netflix's offering of New Girl in the last three days or so. ALL THE WHIMSEY and ANXIETY and POOR COPING STRATEGIES a lady like myself could ask for. I would very much like Nick to be my exboyfriend. Also...I really want to play "True American."
I've been thinking a lot about resolutions recently, as is the custom for this time of year.1
And there are three off the top of my head that involve a degree of social interaction. Or...well, what I'd consider to be social interaction.
There are three things I would very much like to accomplish by this year's end, and I'm going to need some help.2
1) I'd very much like to have an accurate catalog of my comic collection.
It's something I've been meaning to create for some time now, and really it's the responsible thing to do and not just for nerdy pedantic reasons. Though let's face it, it's mostly nerdy pedantic reasons.
So, who can I con to come over and share a couple of hours worth of archival data entry with me?
What if I provide snacks? Booze? Brain boosting classical music? Take out?
Anyone?
2) I'd very much like to learn how to use at least one of the two sewing machines in my possession.
I have a stack of Too Big For Me t-shirts that are just itching to be used as practice projects. One even has a glow-in-the-dark Avatar Aang face on it. I just...have no idea what to do with my sewing machine. Either of them.
So...who can I con into coming over and spending a couple of hours helping me figure this all out?
What if I provide snacks? Booze? Brain boosting classical music? Take out?
3) I'd very much like to finally get around to completing this Christmas Knitting project that I've had on hold for the better part of three years.
Who can I con into teaching me how to knit a provisional cast on?
What if I provide snacks? Booze? Brain boosting classical music? Take out?
Are you sensing a theme yet?
Do I have any takers?
Bueller?
1 Big Broadcast, you have eaten my brains.
2 There's really far more than that, but let's just start with the three.
