I was supposed to arrive back in Boston around 10 last night, but AirTran...in their infinite wisdom, decided to overbook my flight. I was sitting in another gate downloading The Perks of Being a Wallflower onto my Kindle when the call came through:

"We need four volunteers to give up their seats. Those who volunteer will get free lodging tonight, and two free round-trip tickets to anywhere AirTran flies."

Well...needless to say I quickly volunteered as Tribute.

This then left me standing at the Gate Previously Known As Mine for about an hour while things were processed, reprocessed, discussed, and then rediscussed. My Gate Handler looked a lot like Magnitude, and was apparently new. Very new. So new that he wasn't entirely sure how to accurately process what he'd decided to process.

There was a point where his superior looked at me, looked at my ID, and asked: I thought you were already on the plane.

Yeah, it was that kind of night.

Eventually, I was given the requisite vouchers, a new updated itinerary, and sent on my merry way to my holding hotel. Alyssa was more than kind enough to schlep from her finally quiet and less air mattress-laden living room to keep me company during dinner.

My new flight doesn't leave Atlanta until 9 tonight, which means that I have all day to do stuff. STUFF! I've decided that this Stuff is going to be looking at fish. In all the years I've been coming here I've never see the Aquarium, so...today I'm going to do just that.

I am going to look at all the fish.
All of them.
One by one.

And then maybe go to the World of Coke, because...well, why not?

Of course, before I can do any of that I should probably shower, dress, and repack my suitcase.
So...that's what I'll do now.

More as it happens.
