Counting flowers on the wall...
Jul. 9th, 2013 11:34 pmToday was a pretty good day, if I do say so myself.
The fever that has been Boston's weather for the last week or so has finally broken. Thank [Insert Deity of Your Choosing] for me. It was so nice outside that I decided to chance biking to work, even though thunder storms were predicted for the entire day. Good thing I did too, since not a damn drop fell from the sky all day. Awww yeah.
The ride in was nice and quiet, which I appreciate, but not nearly as much as I appreciate the fact that I didn't lose a whole lot of progress on the biking front. I was seriously expecting the ride to go much harder than that based on how long it's been since I'd ridden last. NOPE! Still staying close to the top of my gear levels, which is kind of awesome. Especially seeing as I haven't been jogging in, crap...almost a month.
Maybe I'll do that tomorrow if the nice, cool, weather holds out.
At this rate I'll be at Week Five/Day One for the rest of my days, but...that's an entirely different post.
I was surprisingly productive at work today, which makes me happy. I've got a new project that I'm kind of solely responsible for work flow creation and maintenance, which is only a little daunting. It went well today, and I'm looking forward to being all caught up with every duck having a row assignment by the time I head to off to vacation next week.
We interrupt this blog post to bring you the following announcement:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECOMICCONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
We now return you to your blog post, already in progress.
After work I made a pit stop at BU to exchange a seventeen year old pair of lightly loved Doc Martens for cash monies. Probably no where near as much in the way of cash monies as if I'd sold them on eBay or something, but...okay seriously, this girl was so happy to have them she squeaked. Like...actually squeaked. Then she kept bouncing up and down in glee.
Never did I think finding a pair of boots a new forever home would be that adorable.
I was only home for a few moments before I was racing off to get a ZipCar because the bluray of Legend of Korra: Book one came out today and I knew the Best Buy near my house had two copies in stock. When I got there? There was one copy, and it is now mine.
MINE!
MINE, I TELL YOU!
Then I ran a pet related errand that I'm more than a bit pleased to have done before leaving on my vacation next week.
We interrupt this blog post to bring you the following, entirely new, entirely different announcement:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECOMICCONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
We now return you to your blog post, already in progress and apologize for the intrusion. The people who promised that this announcement would be different...have been sacked.
Dinner was...weird, but not bad and there was ice cream afterwards which is always good.
I had a great long talk with my sister, also good.
Really, the worst part of my day was nearly spilling nail polish on my bed and bed-adjacent hooge stack of comics, and all in all that's not so bad.
So yeah: good day.
