Eye of the Marmot
Aug. 17th, 2011 11:43 pmI keep meaning to come back here with some semblance of an update, at bare minimum a new set of measurements, but...I'll be damned if I can find my tape measure. It's got to be around here somewhere!
At any rate today marked my official start of Wk 4 of Couch to 5K. This is officially the furthest I've ever progressed in the program. It was around this time last time that I tripped and roadrashed the hell out of my leg, and that was back in May. So...just a touch behind schedule. But! I did it! I jogged a full five minutes...twice! Albeit very very slowly, but it still gone done! And that right there is an achievement!
In addition to that I also biked todtay. First to my office, then to my gym, then to trivia, and finally to home. All in all that was roughly six point something miles. Not too shabby. If the weather holds I'll probably bike again tomorrow.
Well, if the weather holds, and if the muscle in my calf I'm sure I did something to this afternoon behaves.
I'm considering the best ways to measure exactly how much I bike/walk in a given day. At the moment the best method I can think of is to use one of the many Google Map pedometer calculators and put my normal walking routes in there for measurement.
In the meantime I'm keeping track of my actual weight via the wii. It...is only slightly demoralizing. And by slightly I mean a whole fuck of a lot.
But! I'm keeping at it, the running and moving and the like. And I guess in the end that's what's important.
